Why is fundraising necessary? Take a quick look at how much money must be raised in addition to tuition in order for the students on your team to be able to attend Greenhouse this year.
This calculator is intended to demonstrate WHY fundraising is necessary. We are not expecting the Serve-a-Thon to raise all of the donations necessary for the year. Our suggested team goal of $500-1,000 will cover a portion of the total amount needed.
Three Fundraising Methods
Any given team may use one or more of these methods.
Traditional Method
Team members send letters, texts or emails to family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to ask them to donate in honor of the team’s service project. Having a student handwrite a note on the response card makes this more personal.

TRADITIONAL
Service Site Donors
Teams serve people or organizations who in turn make a donation. This option is for when those being served need help but are financially able to give. Using only this method may make it difficult to reach your goal.

SERVICE SITE DONOR
Business Sponsors
Team members solicit local businesses to make a donation to Greenhouse as a way of investing in the community. In return the business will be recognized by Greenhouse. The types of recognition depend on the tier of support.
